ประเพณีวิ่งควาย

       ประเพณีวิ่งควาย เป็นงานประเพณีประจำจังหวัดชลบุรี เป็นหนึ่งในประเพณีอันเป็นเอกลักษณ์ของจังหวัดชลบุรีที่มีการจัดมากว่า 100 ปีแล้ว ประเพณีวิ่งควาย เป็นประเพณีที่จัดขึ้นเป็นประจำทุกปี ในวันขึ้น 14 ค่ำ เดือน 11 หรือก่อนออกพรรษา 1 วัน เพื่อเป็นการทำขวัญควายและให้ควายได้พักผ่อนหลังจากตรากตรำกับการงานในท้องนามายาวนาน นอกจากนี้ประเพณีวิ่งควายยังเป็นการแสดงความกตัญญูรู้คุณต่อควายที่เป็นสัตว์มีบุญคุณต่อชาวนาและคนไทยอีกทั้งยังเพื่อให้ชาวบ้านได้มีโอกาสพักผ่อนมาพบปะสังสรรค์กันในงานวิ่งควาย


ก็จะนำผลิตผลของตนบรรทุกเกวียนมาขายให้ชาวบ้านร้านตลาดไปพร้อมๆ กัน ต่างคนต่างก็ถือโอกาสมาพบปะสนทนากัน บ้างก็จูงควายเข้าเที่ยวตลาดจนกลายมาเป็นการแข่งขันวิ่งควายกันขึ้น และจากการที่ชาวไร่ชาวนาต่างก็พากันตกแต่งประดับประดาควายของตนอย่างสวยงามนี่เอง ทำให้เกิดการประกวดประชันความสวยงามของควายกันขึ้น พร้อมๆ ไปกับการแข่งขันวิ่งควาย

ปัจจุบัน ประเพณีวิ่งควายในเขตเทศบาลเมืองชลบุรี จะจัดในวันขึ้น 14 ค่ำ เดือน 11 อำเภอบ้านบึงจัดในวันขึ้น 15 ค่ำ เดือน 11 ตลาดหนองเขิน อำเภอบ้านบึง จัดในวันแรม 1 ค่ำ เดือน 11 วัดดอนกลาง ตำบลแสนสุข อำเภอเมือง จัดวิ่งควายในวันทอดกฐินประจำปีของวัด

สถานที่ท่องเที่ยวของภูเก็ต

หาดป่าตองถูกถล่มโดยคลื่นสึนามิจากเหตุการณ์แผ่นดินไหวในมหาสมุทรอินเดีย เมื่อวันที่ 26 ธันวาคม พ.ศ. 2547 ปัจจุบัน หาดป่าตองเป็นหนึ่งในหาดสำคัญที่ติดตั้งระบบเตือนภัยคลื่นสึนามิ มีการซ้อมอพยพและช่วยเหลือนักท่องเที่ยวอย่างสม่ำเสมอ
